Friction
For just about all of us, there is a wish for a frictionless life - especially when things don't go so well and we feel overwhelmed. This wish is sometimes aligned with our conscious attitude. For many of us, it is not for various reasons - maybe we see it as naive, or maybe we realize that friction has its place.
Physically, we could not move or get anywhere without friction. Friction gives traction. It gives us an opportunity to experience and apply ourselves on a physical level.
And it may be the same way for our life as well. Without friction, there would be little or no traction. Little or no incentive to learn, develop, grow, mature, apply ourselves. Is that really what we want?
Friction is essential to our life, whether we like it or not. So we may as well appreciate it for what it does. Sometimes it is maybe overwhelming, other times easier, but it is at least not boring.
