Believing in Thoughts

When each of us go apply the Byron Katie inquiry process to a belief, what we discover is what happens with a human being when she/he believes in a thought.

It is not personal, it just happens to be expressed in our lives right now.

If cats were thinking, the same process would probably take place in them as well.

I should be a better mouser.

Is it true? It appears to be true.

Can you absolutely know it is true? No.

How do you react when you think that thought? I feel ashamed. I think of all the mice that have escaped. I think of how much time I spend just lying around. I think of the cat next door which seems to catch a lot more mice than me.

etc.
