Most Intimate Friend & Advisor
We often hear suggestions of going inside for advice, to "be a light unto yourself". And the Byron Katie inquiry process is one path for realizing this for ourselves.
Any advice that arises in me, is for me. If I see it as being for someone else, it creates confusion and suffering. If I see that it is for me, it brings me to myself - to clarity, completeness and direction.
I have come to realize that the advice that arises in me, is my most intimate friend and advisor. It is always completely accurate, and complete.
For instance, this weekend the advice arose several times in me that "she should have higher standards". If I saw it as for her, it would only cause frustration and confusion. As I saw that it was for me, it brought clarity, direction and a sense of fullness and completeness.
