Humility

Humility can only arise when we find a ground outside of the small self. Otherwise, it will remain an idea and be exaggerated one way or another.

When we find this ground, we have the opportunity to see the small self as fluid and part of a seamless whole. It is a vortex in the stream, a temporary local pattern of energy and matter within all phenomena. It is empty of any fixed and independent existence

And from this, we have the opportunity to see it more for what it is. We have the opportunity to see its habitual patterns, skills, hangups, etc. There is no need to hide or defend anything. We can have a light touch and a sense of humor about it. There is no need for extra drama.

This is humility, without the extra.
